John Lewis does not offer the interbank rate but instead adds a margin to it, which makes the foreign currency transaction more expensive for you. How to calculate exchange rate loss
Here’s what you need to do in order to determine how much John Lewis’s travel money exchange rate spread is going to cost you:

To order your foreign exchange online from John Lewis, please visit their website at the following link: http://www.johnlewisfinance.com/currency.html
You can choose what currency you’d like to order and how you’d like to receive it. Please note, online foreign exchange from John Lewis is for a minimum of £500 to be converted.
On the same page, you can find a local branch to order currency to a store, where you can order lower amounts if required.
